Review the hotels alongside their amenities, and what to expect from your stay thanks to customer reviews from people who have stayed there.

But your excursion options will also be limited, so factor that into your planning.

For the best hotel prices and room availability during the tourist season, book your hotel now.

INEXPENSIVE ($100-$199/NIGHT)

If you’re traveling to Juneau on a tight budget and care less about fancy amenities or updated rooms, you have several inexpensive accommodation options for your Juneau travel. Here’s a look at hotels without the frills but safe, comfortable accommodations.

The Alaskan Hotel and Bar – $147

This is a one-star hotel, which means it is extremely limited in its amenities. But you will get a neat atmosphere. The hotel was built in 1913, which makes for some unique décor. But it also means you’ll be using a shared bathroom instead of having your own inside your room. The rooms are small since that was how they built hotels in the early 1900s.

Guests note how convenient the on-site restaurant and bar are and appreciate the nightlife in this prime downtown location. It is one of the few hotels in the area that also has an extra parking charge, so factor that into your budget.

Amenities

  • Convenient downtown location
  • On-site restaurant and bar
  • Some rooms feature a kitchenette and others a full kitchen
  • Choose between a shared or private bathroom

What a recent customer had to say about their stay:

“I simply loved staying here. It’s an historic old building with lots of charm. Extremely convenient location and steps to anything you may want to do. I simply loved the Alaskan State Museum up the road, and walking to multiple local eateries for breakfast and snacks. I stayed in the room at the top of the building and loved coming in at street level, and leaving at the top exit on the fourth floor just outside my room. It’s an older building and with such has a lot of quirky but amazing features. If you’re looking for a bland, corporate hotel stay somewhere else. If you want to feel like you’re in a friend’s home and love being in the thick of the historic town as we used to travel before everything was anonymized, stay here and fall in love!” – Dave Bucholtz on Google

Travelodge by Wyndham Juneau – $162

Although this is a two-star hotel, you’ll find some neat amenities, including an indoor pool, which few hotels in the area have. In the reviews, guests state that the rooms are clean and spacious. It’s also one of the few hotels in the area that offers room service.

While the breakfast isn’t free, customers note that it is more extensive than some of the other hotels in the area and quite delicious. Enjoy the on-site Mexican restaurant or head down to the bar for evening drinks.

Amenities

  • Pool
  • On-site restaurant
  • On-site bar
  • Fitness center
  • Airport shuttle
  • Room service

What a recent customer had to say about their stay:

“One of the better places close to the airport. Shuttle service is available if you schedule or call ahead. The pool hasn’t been operational for a long time. The restaurant/bar was great and unfortunately is closed for the unforeseeable future.” – Anthony Jacobson on Google

Super 8 by Wyndham – $181

Enjoy spacious rooms with what previous guests call very comfortable beds. This two-star hotel is designed to be a budget hotel, but it doesn’t quite fit the price range to be considered inexpensive based on competitive prices.

You’ll pay a little more because this is a chain hotel but you don’t get the same amenities you do with some of the locally owned and operated options.

Amenities

  • Breakfast included
  • Airport/ferry shuttle
  • On-site restaurant

What a recent customer had to say about their stay:

“The outside is not much to look at, but it’s pretty decent inside. The staff are the real MVPs at this place. They do make you feel welcome and are accommodating. Big shout out to Vilma, Anna, and Cody. I will definitely stay again when I return to Juneau. My only feedback is for them to let guests know how housekeeping works. I did not feel comfortable telling the front desk to have someone take our trash because housekeeping came only once during our 7-day stay ( the 2nd day). Thank you. See you soon.” – Insoroma Noworries on Google

Ramada by Wyndham – $198

Depending on which way your room faces, you might get one of the best hotel views in Juneau. The rooms have a classic hotel feel most chain hotels offer.

Order room service and relax in your room. Take advantage of the perks of staying at a chain hotel with services like mobile check-in. And while this is a decent 3-star hotel, it is not one of the best-reviewed hotels in the area as customers complain about cleanliness.

Amenities

  • On-site restaurant
  • Microwave, mini-fridge and coffeemaker in every room
  • On-site laundry facility
  • 24-hour front desk
  • Fitness center
  • Room service

What a recent customer had to say about their stay:

“I had an amazing experience at the Ramada. Rooms were clean and acceptable. When you travel to a place like Juneau, it’s all about the people. The front desk agents and their adorable dogs were a warm welcome, all the staff in the restaurant, and especially the bartenders (shout out to Brian) were the most gracious and knowledgeable hosts. Pro-tip: if you need a gym, go next door to the Alaska Club next door. 10/10” – Nick Rome on Google

MIDDLE ($200-$350/NIGHT)

Most travelers appreciate a hotel that fits within the middle of the market. That’s because you’ll enjoy strong amenities without the hefty price tag that high-end hotels come with. Here’s a look at the best middle-of-the-line hotels in the area. Be sure to book early or these middle-of-the-line hotels will book up, making the prices soar during tourist season.

Extended Stay America – Juneau – $208

Stay close to Juneau International Airport and be within a short drive of Glacier Gardens Rainforest Adventure and other outdoor experiences. As an extended-stay hotel, you’ll get some amenities that you won’t find in standard hotels. But don’t worry, you don’t have to book long stays to take advantage of these perks.

Customers note that the hotel needs some updates and some note issues with cleanliness. The rooms are a decent size, but the furniture and finishings within the rooms are chipped, cracked, molded or stained in many cases.

Amenities

  • 24-hour front desk
  • Kitchenette in room
  • Grab-and-go breakfast included
  • Pool
  • Gym
  • Airport shuttle
  • Coin-operated laundry

What a recent customer had to say about their stay:

“No frills but it’s right across the street from the airport. It was wonderful to get off my plane and be able to walk here. It is pretty loud, I was woken up multiple times by slamming doors.” – Kate Richard on Google

Frontier Suites – $215

This is a 3-star hotel with spacious rooms and a full kitchen in every suite, which customers find helps make their travels smooth and enjoyable. Enjoy a free breakfast included with your stay. You’re less than a mile from the airport, making it convenient for your travels. Google reviewers note the superb service in their reviews.

Plus, you can select a room with a jacuzzi tub to rest and relax after a long day. If you’re planning to hunt or fish during your travels, you’ll also appreciate the complimentary fish and game freezer. Spend some time in the on-site gym or visit the on-site restaurant after a busy day of travel.

  • Full kitchen in every suite
  • Airport/ferry shuttle
  • Gym
  • On-site restaurant
  • On-site laundry
  • Variety of room options

What a recent customer had to say about their stay:

“Location is great! We walked from the airport and it was a lovely stretch of the legs. We were a bit disappointed with the cleanliness of the bathroom in our room…hair in the shower, dirty walls & carpet, but overall it was a comfortable room, good amenities and a fair price. Plus the STAFF IS AWESOME!!! Thank you!” – April Manchester-Miller on Google

The Driftwood Lodge – $240

This is your classic budget hotel. It is a one-star hotel located downtown. You’ll be within walking distance of many great attractions and downtown restaurants and shopping. Walk to the grocery store or the Alaska State Museum.

But the hotel lacks some of the more glamorous features you might find elsewhere. It is not fancy by any means and customers note that it could use some repairs and updates. The rooms are also not as clean as some of the other hotels on the list. The rooms are also fairly small.

One perk of staying at the hotel is that it is pet-friendly, meaning you can travel with the whole family. It also welcomes children.

Amenities

  • 24-hour front desk
  • Complimentary airport/ferry shuttle
  • On-site restaurant
  • Good views

What a recent customer had to say about their stay:

“This was my first time visiting Juneau! Upon arrival the staff were very friendly and kind. We were upgraded a room due to my partner not happy with location of first room and these were honestly so perfect and cozy. The walls were made of brick so kept the heat in and the noise down. Right in the middle of everything which was great. The price outbeat the other hotels near by. Super convenient corner store right outside our door as well as a supper yummy breakfast at the sandpiper next door. The museum was right behind us and inside there was a little cafe that sold Super good coffee! We were extremely happy overall. I would recommend this place.” – Rachel Arnold on Google

Baranof Downtown – $248

This quaint hotel offers a good downtown location, but it is also older, which makes some of the rooms outdated and small. Customers also note some problems with cleanliness. But while it is an older hotel, you’ll still get some great amenities, like an on-site restaurant, casual café and cocktail lounge.

Guests note that the lobby is beautiful and has undergone some updates. Some rooms have a small kitchenette with a mini fridge and microwave, while others feature a kitchenette.
